WSC Travel Tryouts & Selection Process

Overview

Warwick Soccer Club’s travel program currently includes boys’ and girls’ teams for players ages 7 through 18, providing opportunities for players to develop their skills in a more competitive environment while representing the club throughout the year.

New Travel Teams (Ages 6-8)

Each spring, Warwick Soccer Club holds tryouts for players ages 6 to 8 who are interested in joining newly formed travel teams. Prior to tryouts, recreational players are invited to participate in weekly pre-travel training sessions, which are designed to help young athletes develop the skills needed to transition from recreational to travel soccer.

These pre-travel training sessions for registered recreational players give players an opportunity to become familiar with potential teammates and coaches. Team selection is based on a combination of participation in pre-travel training and performance during formal tryouts. Information regarding pre-travel sessions and tryout dates will be announced each spring.

Existing Travel Teams (Ages 8-18)

Players ages 8 to 18 who are interested in joining an existing Warwick Soccer Club travel team may be considered throughout the year, subject to roster availability. Players interested in a tryout should contact Travel Coordinator Chris Pope at c.pope@warwicksoccer.com to discuss opportunities and arrange an evaluation.
